Ava’s Crossroads Moment
Whose map are you following?

Ava had always thought she knew what she wanted. She had built a life that looked good on paper: thriving career, beautiful home, weekends filled with brunches and travel. Yet, deep inside, something felt off.

She was asked to lead a major project at work, one that promised prestige, influence, and a significant pay raise. By all accounts, it was an opportunity of a lifetime. But as she sat in the meeting, something inside her said: This isn’t right for me.

That night, for the first time in years, Ava sat down and asked herself what she really valued. Not what she had been told to value. Not what looked good to others. But the core truths that made her who she was. And in that moment, she realized she had been making decisions without a compass.

Reflect on Your Life Alignment
Reconnect with what your experiences are telling you
Your most alive moments and your most off moments are data. They tell you exactly what you value. Spend a few quiet minutes with these prompts before moving on.
Reflection Exercise
Think of two specific memories: one where you felt fully alive or at peace, and one where you felt disconnected or frustrated. Then work through the prompts below.
A peak moment: when I felt fully alive or at peace
e.g. The week I finished writing my first course, or the morning I sat in total silence by the water.
What was present in that moment
e.g. Creative freedom. No one needing something from me. Work that felt like mine.
A challenging moment: when I felt off or disconnected
e.g. The six months I spent leading a project that wasn’t aligned with my values, or saying yes to something I already knew was wrong for me.
What was missing
e.g. Autonomy. Purpose. The feeling that my work actually mattered to me, not just to everyone else.
3 to 5 words that capture what matters most to you
e.g. Belonging. Freedom. Creativity. Balance. Courage.
3
Explore Your Terminal Values

5
Narrow Down to Your Core
Clarity comes from simplicity, not longer lists
You’ve done the exploring. Now it’s time to get clear. Ask yourself: if I could only keep one, which would it be? Which value, if it were missing from my life, would I feel it immediately?
Exercise
Review your lists from Steps 3 and 4. Trust what rises to the top. Write your three non-negotiables for each.
My Top 3 Terminal Values
e.g. Inner Harmony. Meaningful Life. Health.
My Top 3 Instrumental Values
e.g. Courage. Integrity. Perseverance.
6
Write Your Values Statement
Lock in your destination and say it out loud
This isn’t just an affirmation. It’s a declaration: who you are, what you stand for, and where you’re going. When you speak it, you activate your brain to recognize opportunities that align with it. Write it. Say it out loud. Mean it.
Your declaration
Fill in the blanks using your Top 3 Terminal Values (first three blanks) and Top 3 Instrumental Values (next three blanks).
